NASA-inspired outerwear brand returns to Kickstarter roots

10/03/2020
Oros Apparel, known for incorporating NASA-worthy aerogel into its outerwear products, has begun a Kickstarter campaign to help the company launch three new products. The original goal of $10,000 was promptly passed; with 29 days left it had already raised nearly $40,000.

The campaign, which will run until April 9, surrounds the autumn launch of the updated Orion parka plus the new Atmost jacket and Astra pullover. Five years ago, Oros used the crowdfunding website to launch its brand.

Co-founder and CEO Michael Markesbery told local media that his company is excited to return to the Kickstarter community. Backers are rewarded for pledges that cross certain thresholds, ranging from a company lab t-shirt to the purchase of one of the new products at a significantly discounted rate.

Markesbery has said the company will have no trouble fulfilling all orders.
