Oros secures $22 million to boost Aerogel insulation

Thermal insulation maker Oros Labs has raised $22 million to support expansion, with investors including REI Co-op Path Ahead Ventures.

Solarcore Tech is based on Aerogel, which can be used to insulate clothing, footwear, construction and packaging.

Michael Markesbery, CEO at OROS Labs, said: “This investment opens doors for us to pursue strategic partnerships, bolster our manufacturing capabilities, scale our product offerings, and advance our research and development efforts to continue introducing groundbreaking materials to the market.”

At the autumn 2023 ISPO trade show, Solarcore received a Textrends award. It has been used in shoes for brands including Merrell and LL Bean.
