US brand Oros has teamed up with former astronaut Fred Gregory for its latest product, the C41 Flight Jacket, named after NASA’s Space Launch Complex 41.

Mr Gregory was the first American of African lineage to pilot and command space missions.

Aerogel is a NASA-developed technology used to insulate spacecraft that Oros has adapted by adding added a foam to create Solarcore, a “bulk-free approach to warmth”.

Materials include recycled polyester, nylon and elastane with a PFC-free durable water repellent coating.

Each jacket comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Fred Gregory and 10% of the purchase price will benefit the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation
