Messe Frankfurt ‘encouraged’ by turnout at Intertextile Shenzhen
Despite a lack of international visitors, organisers of Intertextile Shenzhen and Yarn Expo said there were many “encouraging factors” at Messe Frankfurt’s first shows since February.

Wendy Wen, senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt, said: “The overall positive response from participants has shown there’s a strong market for the Intertextile Shanghai platform in the southern Chinese region.

“Given all the challenges facing the industry at present, we are extremely pleased with the results, and are glad that we can play our part in assisting the industry’s recovery through the resumption of our fairs. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants shows that the decision to expand the fair, as well as proceed with it on the scheduled dates, was the right one.”

Extra hygiene and health measures were carried out, including temperature checks, face masks, distancing measures and regular cleaning.

Ms Wen added: “Now we look ahead to our Shanghai editions of Yarn Expo and Intertextile Apparel in late September, with the hope that more of our international exhibitors and visitors will be able to participate.”

Yarn Expo Autumn and Intertextile Shanghai will take place from 23 to 25 September 2020 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
