ISPO Shanghai 2020, which organisers say was the first physical meeting of sports and outdoor industry professionals since the covid-19 pandemic, went ahead successfully in the first week in July.

There were 17,776 visitors across the three days of the exhibition, a record, organiser, Messe München said, and 350 exhibitors.

The chief executive of Messe München, Klaus Dittrich, commented afterwards: “We are very pleased to see ISPO Shanghai coming back stronger with an increase in the visitor numbers. It also marks the restart of the outdoor and sporting goods industry in China and breathes confidence into the global industry. Sports lifestyle is returning and will be valued even more after the covid-19 pandemic.”
