Face masks developed jointly by Schoeller Textil and Forster Rohner have become the first to carry the label of Swiss textile testing and certification group Testex, verifying that it is in line with national guidelines.

Testex, together with Empa (the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology), evaluated the masks based on the country’s national covid-19 task force recommendations in areas such as filter function, splash resistance, wear comfort, reusability and textile tolerance.

The label, according to Testex, is intended to “create trust” and help consumers “make a conscious decision in favour of a textile mask which has been tested according to the current recommendations”.
