Nike management shuffles continue

Nike has announced senior leadership changes to continue the momentum of its Consumer Direct Acceleration (CDA) programme.

Sarah Mensah has been promoted to vice-president/general manager of North America and Amy Montagne has been promoted to vice-president/general manager of Asia Pacific and Latin America.

The two took up new roles in the company only last July, as the first set of CDA reshuffles were announced.

Heidi O’Neill, president of consumer and marketplace, described them both as dynamic leaders.

She said: “Sarah has continually demonstrated her ability to deliver strong results across our geographic and Jordan Brand businesses and I look forward to her bringing those skills to the North America team.

“Amy’s breadth of experience across Nike’s global categories – including Women’s – and most recently leading our men’s consumer construct will be instrumental in leading future growth for APLA.”

Nike has also named Aaron Cain as vice-president and general manager of men’s and will focus on driving greater specialisation.

Michael Spillane, president of consumer creation, said: “Aaron’s deep experience in product, merchandising, driving strong consumer connections and delivering exceptional business results across Nike will be well served in this role.”

The broader operational changes, announced last summer, included a series of leadership changes hoped to create “greater focus and agility” within a “nimbler, flatter” organisation. These were predicted to lead to job losses and a one-time employee termination cost of between $200 million and $250 million.
