New DIY Nike Air Force 1/1
Air Force 1/1 is a new Nike model of footwear currently available at select retailers (such as Lust Mexico) and set to launch via Nike SNKRS Japan on December 18. The shoes are estimated to arrive in the US in late December.
While at first glance the shoes appear to be typical white Air Force 1s, albeit with black seams, the black lines are in fact the Velcro base layer which holds each “completely interchangeable” piece to the upper.
The 1/1 comes with a set of bright orange Swooshes, tongue badges, heel pieces and laces (contrasting with the shoes’ white midsoles and outsoles), enabling the wearer-designer to customise each shoe as per their changing preferences.
Swooshes that stop towards the collar (instead of rising into the heal piece) and a textured patch atop the nylon tongue are among the 1/1s’ differences from the standard Air Force 1 construction that allow for the DIY approach.
