Asia and Americas boost for Moncler, Stone Island deal complete
High-end sports and outdoor brand Moncler has reported revenues of €365.5 million for the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 18% compared to the same quarter last year.
Asia and the Americas were the markets that contributed all the growth, with increases of 49% and 28% respectively, while revenues in Europe fell by 16%. It said these results were broadly in line with what it achieved in same quarter in 2019 and attributed the decline in sales in Europe to shop-closures and travel restrictions as part of most countries’ ongoing efforts to cope with the covid-19 pandemic.
Commenting on the result, chief executive, Remo Ruffini, said: “An important year has begun, a year, we hope of rebirth and fresh energy.”
Mr Ruffini also confirmed that Moncler completed its acquisition of the Stone Island brand on March 31.
