Canada Goose footwear to land in November
Outdoor brand Canada Goose has provided a taste of what is to come with its first-ever footwear collection.
In a teased advertising campaign starring indigenous artist and activist, Sarain Fox, indigenous leader and former National Hockey League player, Jordin Tootoo, plus English professional footballer Romeo Beckham (who recently made his debut for USL League One club Fort Lauderdale Club de Fútbol), the brand introduced two styles for men and women: the Snow Mantra boot and the Journey boot (pictured).
The company described the Snow Mantra boot (part of the same ‘family’ as its namesake parka jacket) as having been designed with functional, purposeful intention using premium protective materials. It also revealed that the footwear, which features a removable insulated lining, went through testing on the Arctic tundra of Northern Canada.
Meanwhile, the Journey boot was inspired by Alpine hiker footwear, the brand stated, particularly its squared toe and the step in the boot’s heel (to facilitate an easier on and off).
Made in Italy, the Journey has been constructed to aid with flexibility, including a cushioned midsole and arch-supporting midfoot stabiliser. With a minimalist upper crafted from just three pieces - in order to eliminate seams and, therefore, pressure points - the footwear offers “enduring” comfort for “any lifestyle and all adventures”, according to the Toronto-based company.
Canada Goose footwear will launch first in the Asia-Pacific region, on November 11, followed by North America and Europe, the Middle East and Africa on November 12.
