The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) have together announced the onboarding of Vancouver-headquartered activewear brand Lululemon as the “official outfitter” of Team Canada.

The first games to mark the partnership will be 2022’s Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing, for which Lululemon will provide Team Canada with specially designed apparel and accessories for all opening, medal and closing ceremonies, plus media engagements and athletes’ village ensembles.

COC chief executive and secretary general, David Shoemaker, commented: “Lululemon is an iconic Canadian brand that always leads with athletes at its core - this partnership will be no different, giving Team Canada athletes a world-leading, high-performance collection.”

Chief executive of the CPC, Karen O’Neill, added: “Through the work being done to ensure accessible and inclusive clothing, this is a partnership that will provide high-quality and stylish gear for Team Canada and also seek to promote and support sport for people of all abilities.

“Lululemon, like us, believes in the power of sport to create positive change and we look forward to working together throughout the partnership to do just that.”

Beyond activewear, the brand will also work to develop and deliver tools and experiences to help optimise athletes’ performance both on and off the field, it said. This will include yoga, mindfulness and recovery support practices, which the Canadian company described as foundational to its role in the partnership.

Lululemon will serve as official outfitter for four games, ending with the conclusion of the Los Angeles-based Olympics and Paralympics in 2028.
