Partners Happy Punt, Recover and Hansae design for sustainability
Spanish fashion design and development solutions provider Happy Punt and Recover, a producer of recycled cotton fibre and blends also based in Spain, have teamed up with South Korea’s Hansae, an apparel producer and exporter.
The intention behind the multi-year partnership is to provide end-to-end solutions for the design, development and production of “sustainably conscious” apparel, a joint press release said.
Through harmonising their efforts, the three companies will further globalise their individual reach, with existing offices in Seoul, Barcelona and New York. This enhanced customer proximity will allow the partners to offer a “unique” combination of speed to market and “fully sustainable” garments, the release explained.
Part of this eco-minded initiative will involve jointly encouraging the phasing out of the physical sampling process, in favour of three-dimensional digital designs. The partners’ technology will allow them to offer this service, in addition to patterns, samples and production, among other offerings, at “every step” of the supply chain.
Alongside this, Recover will increase its production of recycled cotton fibre to 200,000 tonnes per year by 2025. The release said that this would help the company meet current market demand for the fibre.
Reportedly, the three companies are already actively working with “leading global brands” on more sustainable collections, which will be ready by spring 2022.
