Textile event reorganisation for Messe Frankfurt

12/10/2021

Event organiser Messe Frankfurt has announced a restructuring of its textile business unit. The company organises major events including Heimtextil, Techtextil, Texprocess and Intertextile Shanghai.

It announced in May 2020 that it would add Frankfurt Fashion Week to its portfolio, holding the first edition in July this year as a digital event. Hendrik Müller-Giegler took up the role as director of this event, filling in for Ricarda Quehl, who went on maternity leave in June.

Claudia Franz also played a major role in developing Frankfurt Fashion Week and is now involved in the launch of two new shows. The first of these, Val:ue, will be devoted to quality mainstream fashion. The second is called Apparel Sourcing in Fashion.

In parallel, the company has announced Bettina Bär as the new director of its Neonyt event in Berlin, replacing Thimo Schwenzfeier, who will leave Messe Frankfurt on October 31. Ms Bär will also be co-director of Val:ue.

Ivonne Seifert will be in charge of marketing and communication for Heimtextil, Techtextil, Texprocess, Neonyt and Val:ue.

All of the people in these roles will report to Olaf Schmidt, vice-president for textiles and textile technologies events at Messe Frankfurt.
