MSF project receives Eurojersey backing
Fabric developer Eurojersey has announced its support Medecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Doctors Without Borders, to help mark the fiftieth anniversary of the aid agency’s foundation.
Specifically, the company behind Sensitive fabrics has made a contribution to a project in Sierra Leone, in which local medical and paramedic teams at the Kenema Hospital there receive specialised training in ways to reduce disease and mortality in children and women during childbirth.
Sierra Leone has one of the highest rates of maternal and infant mortality in the world.
Kenema Hospital has specialist facilities for paediatric care, an emergency department, intensive care unit, nutrition centre, laboratory and blood bank. MSF’s objective is to help local teams manage the hospital on their own.
