Fibre producer Lenzing has celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of its lyocell plant at Heiligenkreuz in Austria.

In addition, it has celebrated reaching the milestone of producing one million tonnes of wood-based, biodegradable lyocell fibres at the plant.

Chief executive, Stephan Sielaff, and Heiligenkreuz managing director, Bernd Zauner, hosted team-members and local dignitaries at a special celebration at the plant in early June.

“We are very proud of the milestones we have achieved,” Dr Sielaff said. “The Heiligenkreuz site has become a highly important part of the Lenzing Group and plays a crucial role in the implementation of our specialty fibre strategy.”
