Etam Olympics capsule sports a Pyratex fabric
French retailer Etam has opened the Olympics season with a capsule collection created in collaboration with six women athletes who will be competing in the games this summer.

The outfit co-designed by French kitesurfing champion Lauriane Nolot is made from Pyratex Power 3, a fabric developed by Spanish textile innovator and developer Pyratex.

The interlock knit is made from a wood pulp derived manmade cellulose fibre (MMCF), a lyocell, in a blend with recycled elastane (11%). Pyratex believes MMCFs can be an alternative to conventional synthetic fabrics in activewear and swimwear thanks to their ability to manage moisture, dry quickly, regulate body temperature and their anti-odour properties.

The red, white and blue activewear range will be sported by ‘Team Etam’, headed by French tenniswoman Caroline Garcia. It includes other Olympics contenders Glawdys Lemoussu (paratriathlon), Audrey Tcheuméo (judo), Amina Zidani (English boxing) and Estelle Nze Minko, captain of the French handball team.
