Support from Euratex for PEFCR webinar
Euratex, the Brussels-based body that promotes the design, development, manufacture and marketing of textile and clothing products in the European Union, will take part in a webinar to help apparel and footwear suppliers gain a fuller understanding of Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR). The webinar will take place on March 30.
The European Commission began a project in 2013 to encourage industry sectors to use PEFCR to help companies measure and reduce the environmental impact of their products and services. During the March 30 discussion, Alicia Boyano Larriba, a policy officer in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Environment, will provide an update on the progress the authorities have made.
For its part, Euratex will share the results of a survey it has carried out among suppliers who have been testing PEFCR.
Biella-based fabric developer Gruppo Reda and the Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp will be among the organisations that will share their experience of collecting data and working on PEFCR.
