China announces new textile industry standards
China’s ministry of industry and information technology has approved seven new technical standards for textiles of particular relevance to the sports and outdoor industries.
The standards set out updated criteria for the industry’s use of naturally coloured yarns blended from ring-spun combed cotton, viscose and polyester fibres (FZ/T 12012-2023); core-spun cotton-polyester yarns with low elasticity (FZ/T 12076-2023); ring-spun cotton and acrylic blends (FZ/T 12077-2023); ring-spun coloured viscose-acrylic yarns (FZ/T 12078-2023); and natural regenerated cellulose fibre cloth (FZ/T 13004-2023).
There are also two new requirements for polyester canvas fabrics: FZ/T 13058-2023 and FZ/T 13059-2023.
All are due to come into effect on November 1 of this year.
