Water and worker projects among the highlights in Columbia report
Sports and outdoor clothing and footwear group Columbia Sportswear has published its Impact Report for 2022, listing a series of recent corporate responsibility achievements across its four primary brands, Columbia, Sorel, Mountain Hardwear and prAna.
The group worked with non-profit organisation Planet Water to build 26 water filtration projects near the locations in which its supply chain partners operate. Columbia Sportswear has calculated that this has helped provide more than 45,000 people with access to clear drinking water.
Another 2022 achievement was the group’s support of specialist training programmes at 11 partner manufacturing facilities to promote health, good financial management and gender equality among workers, with 21,000 workers benefiting.
“We maintained our commitment to reducing our impact on the planet and having a positive impact on people by continuing to evolve our use of technologies, practices and policies,” said chief executive, Tim Boyle.
