US news magazine Time has once again published a 200-strong list of “best inventions”, a continuation of last year’s departure from its more typical ‘top 100’.

Among the innovations to make the cut are Nike’s vented Aerogami jacket, released this summer; 3D-printed footwear from Zellerfeld; and adidas’ record-beating Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 trainer. Allbirds’ new, ‘comfier’ Wool Runner 2 shoe also won special mention.
