HKRITA wraps Open Lab demo space construction
Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) has completed construction of its new Open Lab space in Tseung Kwan O.
By design, the lab is intended to serve as something of a nexus for innovation-minded industry players.
It is hoped the concept will foster opportunities for on-site technology development, demonstration and collaboration between partners. “Just a few more tweaks and equipment installations to go,” HKRITA said.
The organisation will next host a seminar, ‘Threads of innovation: unveiling the future of textile recycling’, during the second day of trade show Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics on March 7.
Executives from textile-to-textile recycler Renewcell, Winnitex mill and local sustainable fashion consultancy Yehyehyeh, plus HKRITA itself, are all set to participate in the 90-minute discussion.
