Anta to launch first ‘zero-carbon’ store concept
Chinese sports shoe brand Anta is expected to open its first “zero carbon” store, Antazero, along Shanghai’s historic Wukang Road later this month, according to reports from within the country.
Following March’s official US market debut and the inauguration of the company’s Anta Sneakerverse concept in Beijing, the launch will likely coincide with global Earth Day celebrations on April 22, local media said.
China is pursuing carbon neutrality by 2060. Its central government forecasts a peak in emissions by 2030.
Group revenues were up 16.2% last year, with flagship brand Anta seeing growth of 9.3% year on year to reach approximately $4.2 billion or ¥30.3 billion.
The Antazero store has been designed to support a reduction in carbon emissions from product to packaging and interior decoration, encompassing energy use and operations, with an emphasis on materials.
