Korea breakthrough for Cycora

Fibre manufacturing group Hyosung is to work with Ambercycle to make textile-to-textile, circular polyester available to textile manufacturers in South Korea.

Ambercycle has developed molecular regeneration technology that it uses to make regenerated polyester from end-of-life textiles. It uses the brand name Cycora for yarns and fabrics developed from this regenerated polyester.

It will now tap into Hyosung’s 58 years of fibre manufacturing capabilities to integrate Cycora into brand supply chains.

Hyosung chief executive, Chi Hyung Kim, said the company had been impressed by the quality of Cycora and by its potential for diverting tonnes of textile waste away from landfill and incineration. “This is another important step we are taking to help our customers meet their sustainability goals,” he added.
