Support for future Ambercycle facility
Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corporation, a producer of polyester based in Taiwan, has announced it will invest $10 million in the first commercial facility to be built by Ambercycle.

The facility, whose location has yet to be announced, is planned for 2026. Based in Los Angeles and founded in 2025, Ambercycle has developed a method of breaking down mixed textiles into their original building blocks to produce a ‘regenerated’ polyester fibre it has branded cycora.

“Investing in this new facility is not just a strategic move—it's a commitment to pioneering a future with decarbonized polyester, which we see as critical to our business. This collaboration will further amplify our capacity to deliver high-performance, sustainable products to the global market,” commented Eric Wu, Shinkong Synthetics chairman. The Shinkong Group company produces both recycled polyester and biopolyesters.

This announcement follows similar partnerships with Hyosung in South Korea, and Far Eastern Group, in Taiwan. Inditex, Gap and MAS Holdings have made off-take commitments for the fibre.
