Outerknown, the surfwear brand launched by Kelly Slater, is introducing one of the first commercial products to be made from Kelsun, a biosynthetic fibre derived from seaweed, developed by US-based start-up Keel Labs.

The alginate fibre has been chosen for a limited edition run of Outerknown’s popular Blanket Shirt and is available starting tomorrow. The fabric is composed of regenerative organic cotton (70%) and Kelsun (30%).
