Regeneration restart for Patrik Frisk

Former Under Armour chief executive Patrik Frisk has announced his involvement in a new venture, a polyester recycling start-up called Reju.

Based in Paris, Reju’s aim is to build a set-up that will allow polyester to be recycled “at unprecedented speed and scale”. It has now opened a first “regeneration hub” in Frankfurt and has established a presence in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, too.

According to Mr Frisk, Reju now has a plan in place to “provide hope for the textiles industry” through material regeneration.

In recent comments, he said: “I have spent more than three decades working in the fashion and textiles industry so I know how detrimental the problem of textile waste is to the planet, industry and people. That’s why I want to help solve it.”

He said Reju has the technology, people and expertise in place to regenerate textile waste into “durable, high-quality material”, meaning that clothes can be regenerated and worn again and again and again.
