New joint-venture for PurFi Global

PurFi Global, a company based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has announced having formed a new joint-venture with Indian textile conglomerate Arvind Ltd, to set up a textile recycling facility using PurFi technology in its home base in the Gujarat.

The planned PurFi Arvind Manufacturing India (PAMI) facility will begin operating with two production lines producing 9,000 tonnes yearly, with the possibility of adding up to ten more lines in the next three years.

In 2019, PurFi Global had set up a similar joint-venture with Belgian textile manufacturer Concordia. PurFi Manufacturing Belgium applies the patented and exclusively mechanical “reverse spinning” process to “regenerate” textile waste into new fibres. It also operates a facility in the United States.

“By tackling textile waste, we are paving the way for a systemic shift that will benefit consumers, producers and the planet,” commented Punit Lalbhai, vice chairman of Arvind Ltd.
