Hugo Boss launches fibre-to-fibre recycled polyester
German fashion brand Hugo Boss has been working with two key suppliers, Jiaren Chemical Recycling and NBC, to develop a polyester yarn that is made from textile waste and is degradable.
The group based in Metzingen said it holds exclusive rights to the NovaPoly trademark and usage for a full year. Afterwards, it plans to make it available to other apparel brands through a licensing system.
NovaPoly is made from post-industrial and post-consumer textiles. The natural additive that is integrated into the yarn during production is supplied by Dubai-based New Biodegradable Co. (NBC).
The global launch of the new yarn, which complements the brand’s earlier partnership with HeiQ AeoniQ, is set for October.
