Circular Textile Days opens next week
13/09/2024
The two-day event includes a programme of talks and presentations as well as an exhibition space, all dedicated to pushing for circularity in the textile industry.
This edition will focus especially on the NTA 8195 for Circular Textiles, a technical framework that rates circular textiles based on the different categories of inputs (pre- or post-consumer waste), processes (mechanical or chemical recycling) and outputs. it is believed that it may shape future European Union standards for circular textiles.
Other topics covered by the talks, master classes and workshops include Extended Producer Responsibility, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CRSD), traceability and digital product passports and new developments in sorting technologies and recycling research programmes.
Some 70 booths have been booked by fibre, fabric and chemicals suppliers, and research centres. Re&Up, Valvan, Thermore, Belda Lloréns, YKK, IBQ, Antex, Purfi, Trimco, Aware, Bright Fiber, Devan, Raddis have signed up. The event’s partners include European research projects and organisations, such as the Denim Deal, Ecosystex, SCIRT, Saxion, and the European Technology Platform for the future of textiles and clothing (Textile ETP).
