Recycling tech start-up prepares next step

New investors in the company include Forbion, a Dutch venture capital firm, Henkel Ventures and NRW.Venture, the investment arm of the North Rhine-Westphalia’s development bank. Prior investors also contributed to the Series A round.
The funds will go to the construction of a demonstration plant in Münster, on the basis of a successful pilot plant.
The start-up said its technology combines mechanical and chemical processes and produces products can then be processed into new, high-quality textile fibres. “The magic is in the German engineering, we have made it as inexpensive as possible and we can reuse large quantities of the chemicals in the process,” Steffen Gerlach, eeden CEO and co-founder told Sportstextiles at ChangeNow last year.
