Internal promotion for spider silk company

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories has announced the appointment of Kenneth Le as managing director of Prodigy Silk Ltd., its spider silk production unit located in Vietnam. Mr Le has held several positions within the company’s operations in Southeast Asia and oversaw the scaling of silkworm rearing and production systems. In his new position, he will continue to focus on increasing Prodigy Silk’s production capabilities, as well as strengthening ties with production partners.

This summer, the company announced the addition of a second production facility and the successful running of an automated reeling system, which was able to process some 250 kg of cocoons in one go.

“This successful automated reeling run demonstrates our ability to enhance fibre quality and adapt existing production capacity for spider silk manufacturing,” commented Jon Rice, COO of Kraig Labs.
