Getzner brings 3D weaving concept to Portland
Austrian technical textile maker Getzner Textil will be showing examples of its novel getzspace three-dimensional weaving technology at Functional Fabric Fair, which opens next week in Portland (November 12 & 13). The weaving technology makes it possible to integrate three-dimensional structures such as pockets and reinforcements into a single layered fabric and thus remove the need for seams and stitching. The streamlined multifunctional fabrics also help eliminate waste and offcuts.

“By reducing the need for seams and stitching on pockets and reinforcements, apparel using the getzspace process will be even more durable and comfortable, all while allowing for new design possibilities,” commented Lukas Berthold, Getzner sales manager for North America.

Getzner Textil was founded in 1818 and develops a wide array of technical fabrics for the apparel and automotive sectors. It is also a maker of damask fabrics popular in Africa.
