Merino belongs everywhere, Nuyarn CEO says
Outdoor clothing brand Ibex has used Nuyarn in a new fisherman’s sweater, the Nautilus.
New Zealand-based Nuyarn uses proprietary spinning technology to make its fibres. This involves wrapping wool fibres around a performance filament. It said Ibex’s use of the yarn in a high-end lifestyle garment showed Nuyarn’s versatility.
“We are seeing incredible opportunities in outdoor luxury,” said Nuyarn chief executive, Andy Wynne. “The technology we have developed doesn’t have to be confined to technical baselayers. Merino, when spun correctly, belongs everywhere.”
