Korean textile conglomerate Hyosung will be showcasing Creora EasyFlex elastane at Performance Days, this week in Munich. Unlike conventional elastane, Creora EasyFlex is said to enhance ease of movement and offer gentle skin-friendly support. The soft stretch yarn also covers a wider array of sizes, which can help brands streamline inventory. 

In a collaboration with seamless knit specialist Ikar, Hyosung is presenting a demonstration bodywear collection incorporating the ‘easy flex’ stretch yarn on its booth. 

The South Korean company is now in the final phases of launching production at its new plant in Vietnam where it will produce its regen Bio elastane. The $1 billion investment was announced in 2024. The new facility will produce bio-BDO using Genomatica’s fermentation technology with sugar cane sourced in Brazil. An initial production capacity of bio-BDO of 50,000 tonnes is announced. The facility will use the bio-BDO to make PTMG, a key ingredient for elastane.
