Active and bodywear brand Paire expands globally
Paire, a Melbourne-based brand that specialises in socks, underwear and activewear, is officially launching in the United States. It has built its reputation on innovative fabrics and garment technologies, and has developed seven ‘proprietary’ materials since the brand was initiated in 2020.
“We use the most advanced fabric technology to make clothes more comfortable, functional and sustainable at the same time, while keeping the design minimal, subtle and easy to wear,” said Nathan Yun, who co-founded the company with Rex Zhang.
Paire claims to have more than 300,000 customers worldwide and expects its revenues to exceed $16 million this year. The DTC brand has a staff of 40.
The brand’s exclusive fabrics include a merino wool/organic cotton blend (Supreme CoolBlend) used to make socks, its first products. BreezeBlend is a blend of merino wool and a manmade cellulosic fibre derived from eucalyptus. NudeTech is an extra soft modal-based knit and RegSilk is composed of 90% modal and 10% silk. ReBrew is a mix of organic cotton and recycled polyester enhanced with carbonised coffee grounds. BioFlex, the brand’s main activewear fabric, is made from a partially biobased nylon (50% biobased polyamide/50% conventional petrochemical polyamide) and spandex in a 74/26 blend.
