Strong line-up for Performance Days Munich
27/10/2025
This year’s key topic on closing the textile loop will be featured in the show’s informative trend forum and in many Expert Talks and presentations. The Day 0 Conference, which takes place tomorrow, October 28, has chosen to focus on waste: “In Nature, there is no Waste” and will be covering the subject in three sessions: drawing inspiration from nature, reducing waste and, true to its hands-on ethos, how to go from theory to practice.
Five award winners
Performance Days has added new categories to its innovation awards with the addition of a wool and a bodywear award. UK-based Rheon Labs (featured in Sportstextiles, here) has won the innovation award for its novel energy-absorbing polymer and specifically its newest application case for sports bras. The performance prize has gone to Toray for an ultra lightweight 3-layer Dermizax laminate made from a 7-denier recycled yarn, which weighs a mere 51 g/sq m and is PFAS-free. This session’s Eco Award goes to Australian company Xefco and recognises the importance of plasma technologies to reduce water usage in dyeing and finishing.
Flytec’s fabric made from OceanSafe’s naNea (a circular and cradle-to-cradle certified polyester) takes home the Wool Award for its absence of harmful substances. Finally, a new fabric made by Chinese knitter Fujian Unitex made from UPM’s biobased polyester wins the Bodywear award. UPM uses renewable wood biomass, instead of conventional fossil fuels, to make chemicals and polymers.
Spotlighting innovation
Performance Days partner Future Fabrics Expo will be hosting an Innovation Hub presenting early-stage companies developing new materials and technologies. The show’s own Innovation Area brings together promising companies from T2T recyclers Circ, Ravel and REO-ECO to innovators in the likes of AMSilk, Colorifix, Noosa, Hereaus and Livinguard.
Dense programme of talks
Textile-to-textile recycling will be covered in depth across numerous talks and panels featuring T-Rex, PrimaLoft, Shivam Gusain, Reju, among many others. Sportstextile’s Technical Editor Sophie Bramel will be moderating a panel on circularity and creativity, with Andrea Rosso, from Diesel, Courtney Salumik, from Circ, and Daniel Hartung, from Hartung Paris.
