OceanSafe ushers in seamless & low impact range
Swiss fibre innovator OceanSafe has teamed up with British biotech dyestuff maker Colorifx and Portuguese manufacturer Impetus to showcase the sustainable technologies they offer for the apparel industry.

OceanSafe’s biodegradable polyester yarn, Nanea, which is certified gold level Cradle-to-Cradle and presented as a replacement for conventional polyester, was used to make seamless knitted tops by Impetus, a manufacturing process that helps reduce waste. The items are dyed using a biotechnology developed by Colorifix that produces, deposits and fixes pigments onto textiles. The process is said to save water, energy and carbon emissions, backed by third-party life cycle assessments.

Officially presented at the 202030, Berlin Fashion Summit, the range is now being marketed and distributed globally. “It is market ready today,” said Matthias Fuchs, marketing manager for OceanSafe in a Linkedin post.
