Circ piggybacks Lenzing’s suppliers to scale next-gen fibres

H&M Group is introducing Circ’s textile-to-textile recycled fibres in a fleece sweatshirt in its autumn collections, and a denim made with Tencel, Circ and Refibra next spring.
For the first time, Circ’s recycled pulp will be commercialised through Lenzing’s supply chain in the form of ‘Tencel | Circ with Refibra Technology’- Refibra also uses textile waste blended with wood pulp; this combination uses 30% Circ in the blend.
The launch builds on the SWITCH2CE programme led by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), and a two-year pilot with advisory group Intellecap and H&M, through which Circ polycotton waste was turned into Circ Lyocell and Circ Polyester.
Florian Heubrander, executive vice-president of commercial textiles at Lenzing Group, said: “By integrating Circ’s recycled pulp into our Tencel Refibra technology and partnering with H&M Group, we’ve demonstrated how existing mill relationships and fibre platforms can be leveraged to make circular fashion commercially viable.”
