BHF Brand adds Circ recycled polyester to its offering
At Première Vision Paris yesterday, Circ and BHF signed an official offtake agreement on the BHF booth. A specialty polyester producer based in China, BHF develops a range of recycled and biobased fibres. In addition to its partnership with Circ, the company is also working with Ambercycle and is the exclusive supplier of staple yarns to NovaPoly, Helen Weng, marketing director BHF, told Sportstextiles. “In response to growing demand for textile-to-textile recycled polyester, we are now shifting to T2T.” The company focuses only on chemically recycled polyester, as thermomechanical recycling does not deliver the quality needed, she said.
BHF’s specialty yarns include tops for blends with wool; Ternura, a polyester yarn with a special cross-section that gives it a ‘natural’ hand feel and wicking properties; and dope-dyed recycled or biobased yarns. Leadingcolor, the dope-dyed offering, is available in 80 shades, and in stock. “This reduces lead times, and allows us to deliver any quantities, even a single kilo,” said Ms Weng. “Offering dope-dyed yarns on stock is the unlock to greater adoption.”
The company offers two main biobased polyester yarns, Sorona PTT and a new PEF fibre. “It has a great hand feel and performance, it is 100% biobased, but it is expensive,” said Ms Weng.
