BHF bets on natural performance and T2T polyester
A leading producer of polyester in China, BHF featured its Ternura yarns at Performance Days this week. “Ternura yarns have a special cross section that delivers enhanced moisture-management and quick drying properties to blends with merino wool for base layers,” Helen Weng, marketing director BHF, told Sportstextiles. The company is supplying Tefron with these special yarns for applications in seamless knits. The yarns come in two versions, one targeting blends with wool and low temperature cationic dyeing, the other engineered for disperse dyeing and blends with cotton, lyocell or modal, she said.
BHF also produces textile-to-textile recycled polyester yarns and has formed partnerships with Ambercycle, Circ and NovaPoly. “BHF is the exclusive supplier of T2T staple yarns to NovaPoly,” said Ms Weng of the research and development platform for circular and biodegradable components for sports clothing. Partners in this initiative include NBC, a provider of biodegradable additives, and trimmings maker Trimco. NovaPoly-branded products span a great many outdoor clothing needs from fabrics, insulation to trimmings.
