The small things matter at Performance Days

06/11/2018
The forthcoming Performance Days exhibition, which takes place in Munich from November 28-29, will put increased focus on the importance of garment components such as zippers and buttons, the organisers have announced.

They pointed out that these features are important for both the functionality and the sustainability of a product.

In particular, they have highlighted zippers, pointing out that there will be several dope-dyed examples on show at the exhibition. There will also be zipper options made from natural resources and from recovered materials such as fishing nets.

Other components on show will include degradable buttons, hangtags and labels, and insulation made from recycled PET bottles.

Beyond the products on display, the importance of selecting the right components will also be addressed during the comprehensive Performance Days seminar programme, serving as the central theme of an expert talk led by designer Alexa Dehmel and textile specialist Ulrike Arlt.
