Intertek opens textile lab in Sri Lanka

Testing company Intertek has opened a textiles and apparel testing laboratory in Battaramulla, Sri Lanka, to serve retailers, brands and manufacturers. 

"The apparel industry in Sri Lanka is a major contributor to the country's economy, representing nearly 40% of total exports," said Calvin Yam, head of softlines at Intertek. 

The Sri Lankan lab – one of 47 textile testing labs that the firm operates – will offer physical, analytical and chemical testing services.
