Euratex says price-hikes in dyestuffs are “unacceptable”

Among the issues raised during the Euratex general assembly in Brussels at the start of June was the rise in dyestuffs prices.

Commenting on the matter, Alberto Paccanelli, outgoing president of Euratex, said: “High-quality weavers and finishers in the EU are facing an unwarranted and difficult crisis due to unacceptable price-hikes in the dyestuffs market, which impact the overall competitiveness of this important link of our value chain.”

He said buyers would have to accept price increases downstream if the European textile industry is to maintain its competitiveness.
