Euratex puts energy reduction in the spotlight

Serena Pontogli, the EC’s directorate general for energy, said the key is to assure effective implementation of the existing framework since most of the EU member states still have to fully comply with the Energy Efficiency Directive.
The project’s partners presented software for companies to start rethinking their energy spending, use of buildings, heating system, ventilation and electricity. Fifty companies have been audited or supported to launch energy efficiency measures. A new spin-off initiative, SET (Save Energy in Textile SMEs), will support 150 companies until 2016.
