Don’t forget textiles, says Euratex

European textile association Euratex has taken part in a European Commission forum to discuss the competitiveness of the continent’s fashion and high-end industries.

A number of Euratex initiatives were identified as ‘best-practice examples’, including the Worth Project, the eBiz initiative, and projects to boost energy efficiency and improve companies’ CSR profiles.  

Euratex president Serge Piolat said the whole textile and clothing industry should be included in EC plans - including having access to innovation funding - not just fashion companies.

The Action Plan for fashion and high-end industries was set out in December 2013 and the EC is working on the strategy to boost growth and jobs creation, which will be presented next year.
