Technical textile start-ups feature at Euratex roundtable

29/05/2015
European textile industry body Euratex held its 2015 general assembly in Brussels on May 28.

The event included a roundtable at which start-up companies from France, Spain, the UK and Belgium spoke about their experiences of setting up and running a small textile company in the current European market.

Of the five, two have a specialist interest in technical textiles. They were Nooem, a Spanish company producing textile-based accessories for technology, and BioSerenity, a company that is working to put embedded medical diagnostic devices into smart clothing.

Participants agreed that while fundraising is crucial in building a business model, successful start-ups must keep track their own strategic priorities.
