Timberland publishes CSR update

Timberland has published results of its third quarter CSR performance. For the year to date, its employees have dedicated 25% more of their time to volunteering than in the same period last year.

Of the 310 active factories at the end of the quarter, a third were rated Accepted, which is slightly lower than the Q2 result of 34% and the first quarter’s 37%.

It uses a Global Social Compliance Programme's environmental framework and said 61% of footwear and apparel production occurred in factories scoring GSCP Level 2 or higher; and 73% occurred in factories scoring Level 3 or higher in SAI's Social Fingerprint.

Almost all leather (96%) came from tanneries rated silver or gold by the Leather Working Group, an increase over Q2 when 93% where silver rated or above.
