Latest All Blacks jersey ‘sets benchmark’, says adidas
Adidas has unveiled the latest All Blacks jersey, four days before the match against England and which “features the world's most advanced apparel technology and innovative materials”.
A body mapping process called Dynamic Stretch Analysis, used in the aerospace industry, was used for the first time for sports apparel, according to adidas. The analysis was used to measure players' bodies as they move, revealing how much strain is applied to the skin and in which direction.
Adidas also developed a two-way stretch fabric, Woven Carbon.
Simon Cartwright, senior vice-president of the German brand’s rugby division, said: "Every aspect of the new jersey has been designed to support the team in playing better – it's the best-in-class kit and sets a new benchmark for every other team in the world.”
