Adidas and other sponsors sign FIFA letter

Sports brand adidas is one of five major sponsors of FIFA to have signed a letter to football’s beleaguered governing body at the start of December demanding independent oversight of the proposed reform of the organisation.

Fourteen current and former FIFA officials are now implicated in a major investigation into corruption by the authorities in the US and in Switzerland. A special FIFA congress will take place in February with selection of a new president and a vote on package of reforms part of the agenda.
