Invista introduces infrared technology for outdoor garments

03/02/2016

Fibre producer Invista has launched infrared technology which is activated by the sun or artificial light sources using unique Near Infrared (NIR) yarns.

The Thermolite Infrared yarns absorb the NIR rays to raise the temperature of the garment.
The hollow fibre provides insulation and minimises heat loss.

The technology is also engineered to dry garments faster than conventional technologies. Reduced drying time means precious body heat can be focused on keeping the wearer warm instead of on drying the garment, said Invista.

Huw Williams, global segment leader for activewear and outdoor, said: “It offers consumers a compelling new benefit, while meeting our rigorous standards for quality, dependability, and performance.”
